Arctic Leopard Battery Recovery – Deep Discharge Warning & Procedure

Arctic Leopard Battery Recovery Guide

⚠️ CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING — READ ENTIRELY BEFORE PROCEEDING

This procedure involves high-risk lithium-ion battery recovery. Improper handling can result in FIRE, EXPLOSION, SEVERE INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, or DEATH.

This guide applies ONLY to specific Arctic Leopard batteries that have been left deeply discharged to the point where the OEM charger will no longer wake the BMS.

⚠️ DO NOT attempt this procedure unless you fully understand ANT BMS operation and are able to actively monitor live battery voltage at all times.

If you do not know:

  • What ANT BMS is

  • How to view live battery voltage

  • How to immediately stop charging if voltage rises too quickly

STOP NOW AND CONTACT WHO YOU PURCHASED THE BIKE FROM.

Overview: Deeply Discharged Arctic Leopard Batteries

Arctic Leopard batteries are protected by an ANT Battery Management System (BMS). If a battery is stored improperly or left discharged for an extended period, the voltage can drop so low that:

  • The OEM Arctic Leopard charger will not initiate charging

  • The BMS enters sleep protection mode and blocks current

This is a designed safety feature and does not automatically indicate battery failure.

In limited, approved circumstances, an Approved Arctic Leopard BMS Wake-Up Adapter may be used to safely raise pack voltage just enough to reawaken the BMS.

⚠️ APPROVED ADAPTER USE & LIABILITY NOTICE

This is an APPROVED Arctic Leopard BMS Wake-Up Adapter.

  • The adapter is designed, approved, and governed by Arctic Leopard safety procedures

  • All liability related to the adapter, its design, and its intended use rests with Arctic Leopard

⚠️ This adapter is NOT a standard charging accessory.

  • It is ONLY for one-time BMS wake-up recovery

  • It is NOT for routine charging or testing

  • It is NOT to be retained by the dealer or customer

The adapter remains the property of Arctic Leopard and MUST be returned immediately after use.

Failure to return the adapter may result in:

  • Loss of Arctic Leopard warranty eligibility

  • Denial of future Arctic Leopard support

  • Dealer account restrictions

⚠️ REQUIRED BEFORE PROCEEDING

You MUST have ALL of the following:

  • Ability to view LIVE battery voltage in real time via ANT BMS

  • OEM Arctic Leopard charger

  • Approved Arctic Leopard BMS wake-up adapter

  • A fire-safe charging environment (non-flammable surface, clear surrounding area)

If ANY of the above are missing — DO NOT PROCEED.

Step-by-Step Arctic Leopard BMS Wake-Up Procedure

1️⃣ Verify Battery Status

  • Connect to the battery using the ANT BMS app

  • Confirm the battery voltage is below the normal charging threshold

  • Confirm live voltage data is visible and updating

⚠️ If live voltage cannot be confirmed — STOP IMMEDIATELY.

2️⃣ Connect the Wake-Up Adapter

  • Plug the Approved Arctic Leopard BMS wake-up adapter into the OEM charger

  • Plug the adapter into the battery

⚠️ DO NOT connect the OEM charger directly to the battery at this stage.

3️⃣ Begin Charging — ACTIVE MONITORING REQUIRED

  • Start charging

  • Continuously monitor live voltage in the ANT BMS app

⚠️ DO NOT leave the battery unattended ⚠️ DO NOT walk away

This step is ONLY to raise voltage enough to wake the BMS — not to charge the battery.

4️⃣ STOP IMMEDIATELY AT 60 VOLTS

  • The instant the battery reaches approximately 60V:

    • STOP charging

    • DISCONNECT the wake-up adapter from the battery

⚠️ DO NOT exceed 60V using the wake-up adapter.

Exceeding this limit or leaving the adapter connected beyond this point may cause:

  • Overcurrent conditions

  • Cell imbalance

  • Thermal runaway

  • Fire or explosion

5️⃣ Resume Normal Charging

  • After the adapter is removed

  • Connect the OEM Arctic Leopard charger directly to the battery

  • Continue charging normally

At this point, the BMS should be awake and functioning correctly.

🚫 ABSOLUTE DO-NOT LIST

❌ Do NOT attempt this without ANT BMS access ❌ Do NOT proceed if you cannot confirm live voltage ❌ Do NOT leave the battery unattended at ANY time ❌ Do NOT exceed 60V with the wake-up adapter ❌ Do NOT attempt near flammable materials ❌ Do NOT attempt if the battery shows swelling, excessive heat, odor, or physical damage

Important Lithium-Ion Battery Safety Information

  • Deep discharge permanently shortens battery lifespan

  • Batteries should NEVER be stored fully depleted

  • Recommended long-term storage: 30–70% state of charge

  • Periodically check battery voltage during storage

  • Cold temperatures accelerate voltage loss

Repeated deep-discharge events may permanently reduce capacity or render the battery unsafe.

⚠️ FINAL WARNING

This procedure is intended ONLY for trained and informed users operating under Arctic Leopard guidelines.

If at ANY point something appears abnormal:

  • STOP immediately

  • Disconnect all power

  • Move the battery to a safe area

  • Contact an authorized Arctic Leopard service provider

Improper handling of lithium-ion batteries can result in catastrophic failure.

Support
